Facebook for Businesses- It’s not as easy as you think.
If you’ve seen the movie “Field of Dreams”, you’d remember the famous line, “Build it and they will come.” Unfortunately this is not the case with facebook business pages. One thing you do know, it’s the age of Social Media and you simply must have a facebook business page. We live in a time where simply putting an ad in a magazine or newspaper is unheard of. People don’t respond to ads the way they used to, they are simply a suggestion or idea. The purchase doesn’t come until the object or service is then researched by the customer. Sounds like work, but when they have trusty Google at their fingertips, within a matter of seconds your customers have several different sites in which they will quickly scan to see what the “unbiased opinions” of others are, regarding your product or service. With over 800 Million active users, google finds facebook pages to be an excellent result of a search and will usually put he facebook page at the top 3 or 4 sites links, but pretty much always on the first page.
So yes, facebook for businesses are a must, but how does it work? I’ll give you several reasons why facebook is a must for your business:
- They are free to set up
- You can constantly update and change promotions for your products and services
- They are easily shareable
- You can access insight on your fans
- They allow you to develop relationships with your customers and listen to valuable feedback
Think of facebook as your opportunity to create and build relationships with your customers. Do not think, that by simply filling out the form and uploading a logo, they will find you. Yes facebook is absolutely free, however, it is important to make your facebook page an extension of your brand. So if you are not design savvy, you may want to hire someone to develop a customized welcome page and set up your Social Campaign. The Social Campaign will be key to your success. They have clicked the link from Google and you have their attention- use it, it will only last 3 seconds. What do you want them to know? ASK them to click the “like” button and they will receive… A discount? A word of advice? Something. When they click “like” they will then land on the offer page. Make that page “sharable!” 56% of people that click “like” will share it with someone else. Listen, this is your chance, it’s not going to happen again. They may “like” you now, but 96% of your fans, will never return to your page.
So now what? If they don’t return to your page, what’s the use? Well now it takes your savvy Social Media Marketing Guru to properly make posts. Let me repeat that, it now takes your savvy Social Media Marketing Guru to properly make posts. No you can not just have the window washer make posts. ”Beautiful weather we’re having today!” will not bring you business. You must post deliberately. You must catch their attention. You must DRIVE them to your page for your new offer. You must get them to now “like” your post, and hopefully even comment about your post and share it with others. Awww… word of mouth. There it is. The BEST possible way to make new customers in any business.
Ok, so you have your page set up, it is beautifully branded to represent your company, and you have carefully planned your strategy to welcome people, offer them something, and get them to share your page and offer with their friends. (The average person has 180 facebook friends!) You’re off to a good start, happy posting!!

I think everything composed was actually very reasonable. However, what about this? what if you composed a catchier post title? I mean, I don’t wish to tell you how to run your website, but suppose you added a title to maybe grab a person’s attention? I mean Facebook for Businesses- It’s not as easy as you think. is a little vanilla. You should glance at Yahoo’s front page and note how they create article headlines to grab viewers to click. You might try adding a video or a picture or two to grab people interested about everything’ve written. In my opinion, it might bring your posts a little livelier.
